Upgrading Experience from F17 to F18 (Spherical Cow)

After a long waiting and continuous delay, finally fedora 18 got release on 15 Jan (f18 Schedule), as per blogs/ML communications this delay is due to critical bug in Anaconda, Windows 8 secure boot, fedup (Fedora Upgrader) ...etc, but it's always good to delay instead of buggy release.

So yesterday I got chance to upgrade my office laptop which had f17 luckily :), I was little afraid because many times yum or preupgrade do not works as expected but with release fedora comes with a brand new upgrade tool called fedup short of FEDora UPgrader. Before starting updating I took backup of my office work stuff, then as per "How Can I Upgrade My System with FedUp?" instructions updated my f17 with latest packages (which was around 700Mb update download but again thanks to delta rpms :) ). OK, now I was ready to upgrade and fired fedup command using network upgrade option which is recommended, fedup worked like charm and it took around 10 hours to download all the latest packages from f18 repos. (Note: Download time depend of your network connectivity).

Now time to reboot, after reboot I got system upgrade entry in grub. A special plymouth theme is used to show the upgrade process and it went smoothly (took around 40mins for me again depends on how many packages needs to be upgraded). After complete upgrade a shiny Log-In screen was waiting for my credentials :).

Complete list of f18 Features : http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/18/FeatureList

So far so good, no issue encountered except Online Account credential, I am not able to figure out why it's not accepting my gmail password. Is it because I am using 2-step verification for my account?
Any Suggestions ..

Will explore more and update any issue or interesting feature :)

To get my online accounts to work, I had to delete *both* the gmail account set up on Gnome 3 "Online Accounts" *and* Empathy "Messaging and Voip" Accounts. (Accessible by running 'empathy-accounts' or click on the edit account when the login error comes up when switching availability). After that *only* add your Google account to the Gnome 3 Online Accounts and enable the On/Off switch for the Chat portion to add it to the empathy accounts again.

I used http://alensiljak.blogspot.in/2012/12/gnome-36-online-accounts-and-google-2.html instruction and now everything working fine, will try your method also.

Anybody done an unattended upgrade yet? That's always been the real problem for me. Especially where the machine is unavailable. I still have a machine out-of-state that's been stuck for the past 4 months on an upgrade F16 -> F17.
