Recently I thought to take airtel 3G service (sadly .. no other network provider work in our area) and bought Huawei 3G modem (E1731), I plugged it and network manager detected without much delay but I also wanted to use MobilePartner app (they provide a script for Linux also) so I can send and receive message without putting sim back to my mobile. I run installation to my fedora box. MobilePartner installed without any issue but it able to create a issue for network manager. Now my network manager is not detecting modem but MobilePartner detects it and I am not able to make it work again, I also uninstalled MobilePartner but still network-manager not detecting modem.
During MobilePartner installation I redirected stdout in a file to figure out what's going on. It's changes kernel usb module, I thought may be kernel update revert the changes and network-manager work again but I was wrong. I updated kernel to latest one and still network-manager not working :(
MobilePartner Installation Note: http://kumarpraveen.fedorapeople.org/install_log.txt
lsusb Output : Bus 002 Device 003: ID 12d1:1436 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (Not detecting as Modem)
Any more info you want?
Any suggestion?
